ETG (Ethylglucuronide) Screening
What is ETG?
ETG is a direct metabolite of ethyl alcohol and is a reliable marker for alcohol in urine for up to 80 hours after consumption, which is much longer than ethanol is present in blood or urine.
2-5 business days.
ETG testing is useful in many situations. Often times the ETG test is used when there is a zero-tolerance alcohol policy or for post-accident screening. For example, if an accident occurs at night or on a weekend when testing locations are not open, the ETG test can detect alcohol consumption for the next 3-4 days. Other practical uses for the ETG include monitoring someone with a history of alcohol abuse. Standard ethanol screens only detect use within the past couple hours (depending on amount of use), but the ETG can effectively detect alcohol use over the past couple days. This can be used as an incentive to abstain from alcohol use. In the long run it can also save money. Effectively monitoring someone for alcohol use with the traditional ethanol screen can get expensive because you often end up testing every day. However, since the ETG can detect a longer window of use there is less need for regular testing.
How it Works
1. Make the Call
to discuss testing arrangements and find the nearest location. We can make sure you are not testing too early or taking tests that you may not need.
2. Get Tested
Get tested. Have specimen collected confidentially as soon as the same day you call.
3. Get Results
Talk to a real person and get test results as early as the next morning. We can answer your questions and provide an official lab report.
